Applying for Membership

Candidates for membership MUST be proposed and seconded by two ordinary or honorary members. Self applications cannot be accepted. Proposing and seconding members have access to the two page application form, which they can complete for applicants.

Candidates must have a working email address.

Membership applications can be made at any time of the year but are generally processed around March each year, once the renewal process is completed for existing members after the AGM.

Members can only make one proposer/seconder proposal for a new applicant in a 12 month period and the process for taking the proposal forward is set out on the application form.

Admission to membership is by election of the BAA Committee. Applications may be declined or postponed without stating a reason.

Annual fees (2025) are £130 p.a. - and there is an additional £130 joining fee for new members. Discounted fees are available for junior (18-21 yrs), juvenile (U-18 yrs) and spouse/civil partner associate members.

Duly elected new members will receive a welcome pack that includes the full set of rules of the Association.
